Privacy Policy

Effective and last updated: October 27, 2026

DuoBrief is operated by BizSprints. This policy explains how the DuoBrief iPhone app, web companion, and website handle information.

Information you provide

The iPhone app can be used for local meeting preparation and notes without an account. If you create an account, Firebase Authentication processes the identifiers needed to sign you in, such as an Apple, Google, or email-based identifier and, when supplied by the provider, your email address or name.

Meeting titles, attendees, notes, transcripts, summaries, action items, readable place labels, and drafts remain on your iPhone when you use DuoBrief without an account. When you sign in, those meeting records synchronize with your private workspace in the DuoBrief Firebase project so they are available in the web companion and on the signed-in iPhone app. Precise coordinates remain on the iPhone and are not uploaded.

Device permissions

  • Calendar: used only to show calendars you select and import meetings you choose.
  • Microphone and speech recognition: used after you start On-Device Notes to create an editable transcript.
  • Location: used only after you request a meeting location. DuoBrief does not track location in the background. Precise coordinates stay on the iPhone; the readable place label can be included in a signed-in meeting record.
  • Reminders: used only when you choose to add an action item to Apple Reminders.

On-device Apple technologies create supported summaries and follow-up drafts. DuoBrief does not send iPhone meeting content to PostHog or use it for advertising.

Analytics and purchases

If you opt in to product analytics in the iPhone app, PostHog may receive limited events about feature use, purchase outcomes, app state, crashes, and privacy-filtered technical diagnostics. Handled-failure reports are limited to fixed operation, reason-category, and schema fields; they do not include raw errors or localized error messages. DuoBrief disables session replay, screen capture, automatic tap capture, interface-text capture, and exception breadcrumbs. Analytics and diagnostics never intentionally include meeting titles, notes, transcripts, attendees, locations, summaries, drafts, email addresses, account identifiers as custom fields, authentication secrets, or payment-card information. You can turn analytics off in Settings.

Apple processes App Store purchases. DuoBrief reads verified entitlement status to unlock paid features, but does not receive your payment-card details. The public website may collect basic, non-content traffic measurements through its hosting analytics provider.

Website cookies and similar technologies

The public website uses essential browser storage only where needed to provide requested functionality and may use privacy-focused, aggregate hosting analytics. The secure web companion uses browser storage and authentication technologies to keep you signed in and protect account access. DuoBrief does not use third-party advertising cookies or sell browsing activity.

How information is used and shared

We use information to provide authentication, save the web workspace, unlock purchases, secure the service, troubleshoot failures, and improve product workflows when analytics consent is enabled. We do not sell personal information or use meeting content for advertising. Service providers process information only to provide their contracted functions, including Google Firebase for authentication and web storage, PostHog for optional product analytics, Apple for purchases and device services, and the website hosting provider.

Retention, security, and deletion

Meetings used without an account remain on the iPhone until you delete them or remove the app and its data. Signed-in cloud workspace records remain until you delete them or delete your account. Limited operational logs and consent records may be retained as reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, and legal compliance.

You can initiate full account deletion inside DuoBrief Settings or the web companion. Account deletion removes the Firebase authentication account and associated cloud workspace data, subject to legally required retention. Deleting an account does not automatically cancel an Apple subscription; manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple Account. Local meetings can be deleted separately from the iPhone app.

Your choices and rights

You can decline optional permissions, disable analytics, export or share content you choose, delete meetings, and delete your account. Depending on where you live, you may also request access, correction, portability, restriction, objection, or deletion of personal information. Submit a request through DuoBrief Support and select Privacy & data request, or send formal privacy correspondence to legal@duobrief.app. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling it.

Children and international processing

DuoBrief is intended for business users and is not directed to children under 13. Service providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate, subject to appropriate contractual and legal safeguards.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as DuoBrief changes. The effective date above identifies the latest version. Material changes will be communicated through the app, website, or account email when appropriate. General questions can be submitted through DuoBrief Support; formal legal correspondence can be sent to legal@duobrief.app.
